The MacKenzie Art Gallery is always looking for volunteers like you! And when you join the team, you'll meet like-minded people who generously give their time and talents to help present exceptional exhibitions, events and education programs.
Who can volunteer?
Everyone! There's no such thing as a "typical MacKenzie volunteer." Are you a people person? Maybe you are more comfortable working behind-the-scenes? We have volunteer opportunities to match lots of talents and abilities.
Ways to volunteer
- work in the Gallery Shop
- make buttons
- help out at events
- take art into schools
- assist with fundraising events including Bazaart, the Gala Art Auction and Art in Bloom!
On occasion, we look for volunteers with a specific skill set. Unique volunteer positions can be found in Jobs and Opportunities.
MacKenzie Gallery Volunteers (MGV)
As a MacKenzie volunteer, you have the option of joining the MGV - a special club for volunteers who want to take their involvement to the next level. For a nominal annual fee, you will receive invitations to special MGV events, including the MGV Enrichment Program, which brings in guest lecturers and takes special tours of local cultural venues.
For full details on the MGV, view our MGV Brochure.

I volunteer because I love art and because the people at the MacKenzie are wonderful, caring, and sharing people. I find working in the Gallery Shop extremely fulfilling because I feel that I am now a part of the MacKenzie Art Gallery, thanks to Michael, John, and the inspiring volunteers and staff I have met over the almost twenty wonderful years I have been at the Gallery.
