Wilf Perreault: In the Alley | Dans la Ruelle

September 27, 2014 – January 4, 2015 | 27 septembre 2014 – 4 janvier 2014

Extended by popular demand, Wilf Perreault: In the Alley will now close February 1, 2015!

Presented by Greystone Managed Investments.

A major retrospective of one of Saskatchewan’s most celebrated painters, Wilf Perreault. Best known for a single subject – the everyday back alley, this exhibition features over forty paintings and watercolours, tracing the development of this unlikely urban icon. The exhibition will be marked by the unveiling of a major new installation: a 150-foot wrap-around panorama of back alleys. This exhibition is accompanied by a 30-minute documentary film, a bilingual hardcover book, and a limited edition print, all available at the Gallery Shop.

Organized by the MacKenzie Art Gallery and presented by Greystone Managed Investments, this project has been made possible through a contribution from the Museums Assistance Program, Department of Canadian Heritage. Sponsored by Harvard Developments with Grasslands and Harvard Communities and generously supported by Donald & Claire Kramer Foundation. Promotional design by Brown Communications.

MacKenzie Insider Dinner Series Wilf Perreault

The MacKenzie Art Gallery would like to invite you to be part of a new opportunity to support Saskatchewan’s largest and most compelling public art gallery: the MacKenzie Insider Dinner Series. This exciting new program brings together individuals who share an appreciation for the arts and a personal commitment to enhancing their support of the Gallery. By participating in the Insider Dinner Series, you will help fund projects that benefit every area of the Gallery including exhibitions, research, public programs, and conservation.

This exclusive experience for ten guests will be marked by the unveiling of a major new installation: a 150-foot “wrap-around” tableau featuring Perreault’s iconic depictions of back alleys. This new work of art will be the perfect setting for a private, after-hours dinner that I will host alongside Wilf Perreault, and friends.

At $10,000 a table or $1,000 a plate, this is a meaningful way to celebrate the work of Wilf Perreault and to support the MacKenzie Art Gallery while receiving a $700 charitable tax receipt for each ticket purchased. Chef Jonathan Thauberger of Crave Kitchen + Wine Bar will prepare a unique five course dinner paired with wines not readily available in Saskatchewan. The MacKenzie Insider Dinner Series will be like no other dining or visual arts experience in Saskatchewan.
